2025-2026 Fundraising Plan

Calalta Figure Skating Club is excited to announce our fundraising plan for the 2025-2026 skating season. As a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality figure skating programs to our community, fundraising plays a crucial role in sustaining our operations. With a fundraising target of $10,000, we rely on the support of our dedicated volunteers and the generosity of our community.

Fundraising Objectives
  1. Raise $10,000 to support the club’s activities, including seminars and events.
  2. Engage our members and community in fundraising efforts to foster a sense of belonging and shared responsibility.
  3. Recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions of our volunteers.
Events and Activities

Apples, Purdy’s Chocolates, 50/50 Raffle, Flowers, and Fill the Freezer Events (Goal: $10,000)

  • Kicking off in September, we’ll be selling apples through our partnership with Davison Orchards of Vernon, BC.
  • Just in time for Christmas, Purdy’s chocolates are a HUGE hit, especially for stocking stuffers for coaches and teachers.
  • 50/50 draw will be available in November and early December, with the winner selected after our International Skating Day event on December 14.
  • And what is Mother’s Day without the beautiful flowers, tomatoes, and herbs from Blue Grass Greenhouses?
  • Of course, in June, we have Fill the Freezer just in time for Father’s Day and summer BBQing.

Earn volunteer hours by selling products for the events above (does not include the 50/50 event). For every $100 sold in each event, you earn 2 hours towards your volunteer commitment.

What is your volunteer requirement?
  • Prestige Performance/Group Star = 6 hours
  • Adult Skaters = 6 hours
  • Star Skate/Podium Pathway (1 skater) = 12 hours
  • Star Skate/Podium Pathway (2+ skaters) = 18 hours

There will be plenty of opportunities to volunteer your time at various events, including the Star Series 1 competition on November 21-23, the Ice Show held in April, Assessment Days, Star 1-3 events, the Used Dress Sale, and tons more! We email all volunteer opportunities to our members as they come up, or you can see our current openings by heading to our Volunteer Opportunity page.

Sponsorship and Community Partnerships

  • Seek sponsorships from local businesses, offering advertising opportunities in return. We offer sponsorship packages ranging from Friends of Calalta ($100) to our Platinum sponsors who donate $1000. Donations can include product baskets and/or gift cards and will considered by retail value for the levels noted.
  • New this year! For all sponsorship dollars you collect over $1000, 25% of the sponsorship dollars will be credited back to your account. Speak with your employer or a business you know to see if they would be interested. If so, please download the sponsorship letter below.

Volunteer Engagement

  • Actively involve volunteers in planning and executing fundraising events.
  • Provide training and resources to help volunteers effectively contribute to fundraising efforts.
  • Recognize and celebrate the achievements of our volunteers through social media, awards, and public acknowledgments.
