September 2017 Monthly Update

Welcome to September 2017!

This is the first of the monthly updates you will receive via email. It will contain the following each month:

  • Important Dates for the Upcoming Month;
  • Volunteer Opportunities;
  • General Information;

Registration

All sessions start Tuesday September 5 and go to June 24, 2018 (June 22 at COP)

Both Jimmie Condon (JCA) and Canada Olympic Park (COP) registration is now open and can be accessed here https://calalta.uplifterinc.com/

  • Book 6 or more sessions per week (any combination of on or off-ice sessions) before September 1 (12:00 am – that’s midnight August 31) and receive a 20% discount!
  • Book 6 or more sessions per week (any combination of on or off-ice sessions) between September 1-30 (12:00 am – that’s midnight September 30) and receive a 10% discount!

Sorry no discounts after September 30th

Don’t forget to book all of your sessions at once to ensure you qualify for the discounts!

COP- Pairs – Both sessions moved to Father David Bauer

Wed Sept 6 COP- Pairs – Both sessions moved to Norma Bush

COP- Ice Dance – Both sessions moved to the Edge

Thus Sept 7 COP-Pairs – Both sessions moved to Father David Bauer
Fri Sept 8 COP- Pairs – Both sessions moved to Norma Bush

COP- Dance moved to the Edge for both sessions

Volunteer Opportunities

Teamwear for Calalta Skaters

 

Volunteer in Charge will determine how many other volunteers are required and will delegate tasks to them as required.

 

This role starts in September. Contact the office at [email protected]

Volunteer in Charge (VIC)

With assistance from the office, work with the vendor, make arrangements to pick up sample clothing, organize ‘sizing days’ at both COP and JC so skaters can try on and order the team wear, return the product to vendor;

Place order, follow up with vendor as necessary, pick up team wear when ready and prepare for distribution to the skater/parent when ready;

Provide direction to other volunteers as necessary

Qualifications

Leadership – provide direction and delegate to other volunteers, follow up with them as necessary, step up if they don’t follow through;

Communication – Proficient at writing and responding to emails, explaining tasks to others, working with other volunteers, parents and the staff at Calalta;

Strong interpersonal skills – polite, professional, respectful
